Joey Diaz and Lee Syatt Speaking with Raf Esparza, giving the listeners a motivating thank you

Joey:  I just want to tell people thank you for all the comments, thank you for the support of the Podcast, thank you for always loving me and Lee and my guests.  But also I want you to take that for what it was; that you can do this shit.  You could do whatever the fuck you want.  Don’t let em stop you.  They could all suck your dick at the end of the week.  Alright?  Fuck em all.  You have something that you want to do? -Do it.  Go for it.  Who gives a fuck?  If you fail, who gives a fuck?  You know how you really fail? - If you don’t fuckin’ go for it.  So end of story.

Joey Diaz and Lee Syatt speaking with Bruce Buffer about being passionate at what you do

Bruce: Here’s the key to collecting.  Here’s the key to life in my opinion.  And you got this from, hopefully, from my book.  I’m a very passionate individual.  If you have passion for something, like I do for movie memorabilia, you know, as an example, and I could look at the wall at my seven foot tall poster from the movie It’s a Wonderful Life which is one of the best movies ever made, still play it every Christmas, Um, I look at it and I get a good feeling.  I’m passionate about it.  It makes me feel good.  If you can do that and collect and you know how to make money at it at the same time…it’s perfect.  It’s kind of like having a job.  Like what I do in the Octagon.  I’m so passionate - I love so much when I step into that Octagon, I live for that.  It’s one of the greatest things I do in my life and that thrill just gets more and more and more and I get paid for this?  You know … unbelievable, that’s nirvana.

Joey Diaz and Lee Syatt speaking with Steve Simeone about keeping your mind active

Joey:  If we’re going to improve as human beings, you have to keep learning.  And you have to keep figuring your mind out.  Your mind has to keep spinning guys.  I don’t give a fuck if you’re a plumber by trade.  That’s a trade you chose and i’m happy you chose it.  But at night you gotta read a book.

Steve: Yea.

Joey: At night you gotta do a puzzle.  You know.  Bro, if you’re just gonna sit there in front of the fuckin’ TV, you know, and learn from Discovery - hey I’ve learned how to make Meth from Discovery.  I've learned about fuckin’ Icing Ages.  You learn a lot of History on TV, but it gets to a point that your mind has to get analytical.

Joey Diaz Speaking with Steve Simeone and Lee Syatt about fitness

Joey: But no Lee, I’m proud of you that you made the choice, and that you uhm

Lee: And like, I cut diet Coke out, that’s gone.  It’s just water.

Steve: Wow

Joey: You’re 25 years old, Lee.  I wish I was 25 years old now...

Lee: Yea

Joey: ...To tell you how easy it can be, cause you don’t want to do this when you’re 40.

Lee: No.

Joey:  When you’re 40, there’s gonna come a time you're gonna gain 30 lbs.  And you’re gonna go, ‘you know what? I already did this.  I did this.  So this is coming right off’.  But right now you’re 25.  Right now you’re metabolism - you could fucking eat a cake and it’s gone within 10 minutes.  It should be.

Lee: Well, not mine but yea.

Joey: It should be!  Because you haven’t kicked that mother fuckin engine in.

You got an engine.

Steve: Yes

Joey: In the 80’s there was Pennzoil.  And Pennzoils' motto was; ‘you can pay me now, or you can pay me later’.  That stuck with me for my life.  Those people that drive around, and don’t change the oil then their engine blows up.  And they go; ‘what the fuck happened?’ And that was their motto.  Either you can pay me a $1.99 now or you can pay me $800 later.  You’re gonna pay me.  So, you gotta get into exercising.  You know, and I did it as a chid and when I got into Comedy, I sold my soul so deeply into Comedy that I go; who needs their fitness?  You always need your fitness.

Steve: Mind, Body, Soul - It’s all connected.

Joey: You always need to breathe.  You always need that hour for yourself.  That hour for yourself is sooo spectacular.  My wife left the other day and she came back and I could see that she was a different person.  And I go, you gotta do this three days a week.

Joey Diaz and Lee Syatt speaking with Steve Simeone about believing in your art and sticking to it

Joey: I try to do the best I can.  I suck at Jiu-Jitsu. - If this was 20 years ago, I would’ve quit three weeks ago.

Lee: Umhmm, Steve: Yea

Joey: Because of Comedy, I stick with everything now.

Steve: Yea

Joey: I stick with everything, because I've learned something - that no matter how fucking bad you are or how bad you are financially…If you believe in your art, I mean truly fucking believe (not because you want pussy, not because you want to be famous.  None of that shit) I’m talking about if you really believe that you could add something; you know what, I like Dave Gilmour, and I like fuckin', the guy from uh, the guitar player from Tool, but I think I could add something different.  And if you truly believe that, if you believe with your paintbrush, or whatever the fuck it is, plumbing or sucking cock, if you truly believe - there’s a chick out there that’s like; ‘I suck the best dick in my neighborhood.  I’ve blown 18 guys and they’ve all cum, and they've told me, they've come back to me, they tell me i’m beautiful.’  And you ask her what’s her secret; ‘well I grab their nuts and I squeeze them and I twist them and I, at the same time’.  They all think they have something that nobody else has.  And that’s the same thing that makes you special and gives you fuckin’  hope.

Joey Diaz and Lee Syatt speaking with Mike Maxwell about living life with and without control and letting things take their course

Joey: When people just take life in their own hands, I give them an extra, sort of respect.  You know what i'm saying Mike Maxwell?  Like you.  You live your life, and you do Jiu-Jitzu and you got a car payment and you make it fuckin happen.

Mike: Sometimes I don't know how it works but

Joey: Oh my god, we never do!

Mike: I've been thinking, over the last couple of weeks I've really been focused on the idea of just letting life live itself.  There's this idea that you have to control every single moment and decide what's going to happen.  And you know, if those things that you decide are supposed to happen in the future, don't happen, you feel all shitty.  I keep thinking, and i've been thinking about this with making Art too, like, do I make Art that I think I could sell? - Or do I just make what I want to make at all times and just hope for the best?  Like, don't try to figure out the tricks so much, as just, put in the fuckin work and what happens, happens.  It's easier to say now, right at this moment, but it's something that i've been working with.
