About a 'We the People Live' Podcast Episode

I wrote this after listening to this two-part podcast of We the People.  In it Sam Harris and Hannibal Buress get into a heated back & forth exchange, surrounding the topics of Police shootings, the Black Lives Matter movement, etc.  Many said/feel that Hannibal came out of the convo looking horribly ... I don't share that sentiment though (especially after factoring in the fact that he was drunk as fuck).  Here's my take on the convo:

"The only way to talk about the totality of what's going on, is to talk about statistics." - I agree with that statement from Sam Harris.  The only way to grasp the emotional strife of what's going on, however, is to talk about individually lived experiences.  In my opinion, the issue lies in both sides believing that the whole picture is comprised of either-or, when in actuality both sides are necessary.  What's the fix? - I can't say with any degree of certainty.  But where the fix is, lies in bridging that gap to include both facets of that conversation.  Until then, we're going to continue having these stand still, polarizing, side-picking arguments.  The goal should be to mesh the two.  I think we lose sight of that sometimes. #BlackLivesMatter #DominicanLivesMatter                             #[insertyourethnicity]LivesMatter ... #AllLivesMatter
