The War of Art - Steven Pressfield

"The warrior and the artist live by the same code of necessity, which dictates that the battle must be fought anew everyday."

Necessity.  What greater motivator?  Does one exist?  For a Warrior, the need to stay alive for your Family, your self, for the very cause you're fighting for, for friends, for future, for passion, for hope. - An Artist feels the need to create, for all of the same reasons.  Day in and day out a true Artist continues to work on perfecting his/her craft.  You'll be faced with obstacles, some bigger and more serious than others.  the Warriors necessity comes from the lack of it, equalling death.  Nothingness.  It being over.  Similarly, an Artist with the same lack of necessity does not create.  His/her Art is non-existent.  It's nothingness.  It's over.  Force the necessity in, and become a Warrior of and by your Art.
